Training

What training here actually looks like

Five areas of work, one plan per athlete. Sessions are scheduled around your season, and everything we change gets measured first.

Questions

What players ask us first

Why do you have athletes throw and lift at high intent?
Because that is what the game asks for. If we build an engine that can sustain high-intensity work, the athlete eventually throws harder and stays healthier. The body can only accelerate as much as it can brake, so the better we build the brakes, the more power we can safely produce.
My elbow hurts. Will more forearm work fix it?
Usually not. Strengthening the forearm puts a band-aid over the symptom. Throwing is a total-body action that starts at the midline and works outward, so we go after the structures of the trunk that rotate and stabilize you first.
Are plyo balls dangerous?
Not when they are programmed properly. We use them inside a warmup and arm-care structure with the same load tracking as the rest of the throwing day, which is what keeps the arm in shape and the mechanics clean.
How do you decide how far and how hard I throw?
We measure it. Two athletes at 180 feet can be at completely different levels of effort, so we use the Driveline Pulse and velocity tracking to set your targets instead of generalizing a program across everyone.
Do I need to be a college prospect to train here?
No. We work with high school and college players across Long Island at a lot of different levels. The pitching evaluation is free, and it tells us where to start.
